These ever-changing culinary craze secure state of San Francisco at the top of the best U.S. cities for foodies, chosen by readers of Travel + Leisure. In the important meal and beverage category of T + s favorite cities in America survey, readers weighed in major cities, the best renowned restaurants, cafes in the neighborhood, and ethnic cuisine farmers' markets.
In fact, the most enthusiastic connoisseurs of today seek the indulgence beyond the black-white tablecloth. Markets are a great importance for those wishing to experience the field at the national trend at the table. Among the 20 cities is a restaurant focused on communities with fresh ingredients.
We found almost as many fresh takes on comfort food - like a boat infusion of beer cheese mac 'n' from Minneapolis - and the recent developments in the truck stop food and a pop-up restaurants. Over 200 restaurants at home patrolling the city day by day, Portland, OR, is a truckload of food for every desire, even if the Korean-Hawaiian Fusion.
No. 10 in San Antonio, TX
People say they come here for the historic Alamo, but it could very well be the queso and salsa-slathered with Chile-Tex-Mex in San Antonio the top 10, as well as ethnic foods and barbecue. If you want to get out of the tourism network, the head of Southtown, south of downtown, experience the friendly gastropub in Monterey, or spot, the ice house tamales, tostadas, and a long list of beers dizzying.
No. 9 Charleston, SC
This city of South Carolina embraces its traditional low-Regional cooking - the cuisine of the South with a strong dose of the coast oysters, crabs and shrimp. Stroll through the historic district and you will see (and smell) lots of magnets like the new Gourmet REMEMBER, directed by James Beard winner Sean Brock. This is another facet of charm in Charleston where readers voted No. 1 for the picturesque neighborhoods, B & B, and friendly, the room attractive.
No. 8 Savannah, Georgia
This Georgian town may be known for its coastline on the topic of food, but voters prefer the AFC for its cafes - house "neighborhood dinners" food with local ingredients folded. A popular place: The Pub Green Truck, which offers appetizers such as spicy Georgia, nuts and chili cheese plate. The reader is also very unpretentious town with a relaxing atmosphere, good drinks and fun people watching.
No. 7 in Seattle
The Pike Place Market is probably the most photographed in the market for farmers in the country - and this is just in front of the original Starbucks (coffee here is almost its own food group). A hot area for new restaurants are located near South Lake Union, where the chef Tom Douglas House recently opened three restaurants, themed things Tibetan Momo.
No. 6 Portland, OR
Super-green Portland has earned a reputation for its ground-dining table, well-designed beer, food and trucks 200-odd. While the Big Apple can be a focal point for the big names of restaurants, luxury hotels, and diversity, New Yorkers can eat at any price level, and embraced the trucks and comfort food eating patterns.
