Colin Powell Leadership Book Will Be Published In 2012

NEW YORK (AP) - Colin Powell's new book is a success story.

Secretary retired four-star general and former state is to deal with HarperCollins for "It worked for me. Leadership and Life Lessons"

According to HarperCollins, the book will include his 13 rules of leadership and "personal stories that reveal".

Financial terms were not disclosed. HarperCollins announced on Sunday that the book was scheduled for May 2012.

One rule of Powell, "Get Mad, then get over it," will be tested in his book. HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis declined to comment on whether Powell will address criticisms of past memories by former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and former Vice President Dick Cheney, Powell both often at odds with everything in the administration of President George W. Bush.

Cheney "In My Time", said differences over the Iraq war and said that Powell was reluctant to speak at meetings of the cabinet. Powell has since said the book includes Dick Cheney "dirty tricks".

Once considered a presidential aspirant, Mr Powell wrote a best-selling memoir, "My American Journey," published in 1995. Powell did not write about his years as secretary of state, but was interviewed by Washington Post reporter Karen DeYoung for his biography of 2006, "Soldier:. The Life of Colin Powell"
