LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Reality TV star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday, only 72 days after marrying basketball player Kris Humphries luxury wedding that was advertised as "Fairytale".
Kardashian, 31, star of the show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" has filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences.
"After careful consideration, I decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands that this was not an easy decision. I had hoped that marriage was forever, but sometimes things do not work as expected. We are still friends and want each other the best, "Kardashian said in a statement.
The court documents Kardashian asked the court to confirm that the jewels and other personal items, and earnings before and during marriage is considered separate property. It also notes that the couple has a prenuptial agreement.

Kardashian and Humphries married Aug. 20 Southern California wedding reported to have cost $ 10 million, after dating for about nine months. More than three million American viewers watched the two-part TV special earlier this month called "The Fairytale Kim marriage. Event Kardashian"
But allegations of tensions in the marriage broke quickly and has spread beyond the entertainment media for the past week. Some reports have suggested Humphries, 26, the New Jersey Nets basketball player, was reluctant to play its role in the fire Kardashian and there were differences about where the newlyweds will make their home.
This is the second divorce for Kardashian, who was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas for the four years, separating in 2004. Since then, the reality star has had several high profile reports, including R & B singer Ray-J and football player Reggie Bush.
